Overview
The instructions below will guide you through connecting to the Eduroam network at UTK on an Android device. Android runs on a wide variety of devices, so some steps and pictures below may not match your phone.
Before you Begin
You must first connect to eduroam from your home campus before traveling.
Complete network registration using ut-open (Recommended) - It is recommended to complete the network registration process for your device using the ut-open network before setting up eduroam. You can find more information about the registration process in the article WiFi: Connect to the UT Wireless Network. In most cases, a prompt to register your device should appear automatically after you connect to ut-open the first time. Note that the registration does not take effect until the device has been restarted or you toggle your WiFi off and on.
If you skip this step, you can access the network registration system from eduroam manually by navigating to support.utk.edu.
Register Your Device on ut-open
- Navigate to the ‘Settings’ menu on your Android device.
- Click the ‘Wi-Fi’ or 'Network and Internet' option towards the top of the menu.
- From the list of available networks, locate the 'ut-open' network.
