How long will I have access to T-Storage once I have left the University?

T-Storage home areas remain active for one year after you have left the university.  In order to connect to your home area from off-campus, you will need to connect through UT's VPN.  Information about connecting to T-Storage from off-campus is available on the T-Storage website.

How do I add or remove members to a shared T-storage drive?

Faculty and Staff can manage ownership and membership of shared T-storage drives on the Email Account Management page.

What is the difference between T-Storage and OneDrive?

T-Storage offers you 1 GB of cloud-based storage for your files.

  • Managed by OIT and located on the UT network. 
  • You must be on UT’s network or connecting through the VPN in order to access your home area. 
  • If you are saving your files from any of the OIT Computer Labs, then they will be stored in your T-Storage home area by default.
  • Associated with your NetID
  • You will retain access to your home area for 1 year after you have left the University
  • Backed up on the following schedule:
    • Hourly backups - Created every 2 hours from 9 am to 7 pm; available for 2 days.
    • Nightly backups - Created nightly; available for 28 days.
    • Weekly backups - Created every Monday; available for 90 days.
    • Instructions for recovering files are available for Windows and Mac.

Your OneDrive offers you 5 TB (5000 GB) of Microsoft cloud storage.
