VPN: Selecting the Correct Version of Pulse Secure | Windows 11

Overview

OIT now offers Pulse Secure for x64 and ARM64 processors running Windows 11. Even though both types of processors have 64-bit architecture to run Windows 11, devices with ARM64 processors may not be able to run most traditional desktop applications. To determine which version of Pulse Secure you need, follow the instructions below to find information about your processor. 

Instructions

From Settings 

  1. Click on the Windows icon on your taskbar to open the Start menu. 
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click on System
  4. Click on the About tab. 
  5. Under Device Specifications, look for System Type
    • If you see 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor, you have a 64-bit processor so you will need to download Pulse Secure Win 64-bit
    • If you see 64-bit operating system, ARM-based processor, you have an ARM64-based processor so you will need to download Pulse Secure Win ARM.

From System Information 

  1. Click on the Windows icon on your taskbar to open the Start menu. 
  2. Search for System Information in the search bar and click on the first result. 
  3. Click on System Summary in the left-side menu.
  4. Look for System Type under the Item column.   
    • If you see x64-based PC, you have a 64-bit processor so you will need to download Pulse Secure Win 64-bit
    • If you see ARM-based PC, you have an ARM64-based processor so you will need to download Pulse Secure Win ARM.
