Zoom: Update the Zoom Workplace app and prompt to contact IT to proceed

Overview

Zoom releases application updates often, and we recommend staying up to date with the latest version for your device. On some UT-owned devices, an admin account is required to download and install application updates. In this case, a prompt like the one below may appear.

Troubleshooting Steps

  • Try uninstalling Zoom. Then, download the latest version for your device from the Zoom download center.
  • Any user that does not have local admin rights on their computer and requires admin credentials for updates, installs, etc. can call the HelpDesk at 865-974-9900 to speak to a Desktop Support technician to assist in updating their client.
