What types of LiveOnline@UT (Zoom) accounts are available and how do I access Zoom?

The following types of accounts are available on our UT Zoom license:

  • Basic - Staff may activate a Zoom Basic account online at tennessee.zoom.us. This account includes unlimited meetings with up to 300 participants. For an upgrade to a Licensed (Pro) account, submit a ticket with the OIT Helpdesk at help.utk.edu.
  • Licensed (Pro) - Faculty and students may activate a Licensed (Pro) account on our UT Zoom page at tennessee.zoom.us. This account includes unlimited meetings, unlimited duration, up to 300 participants per meeting.
  • Pro Plus - This type of account is available by request. This account includes unlimited meetings and unlimited duration with up to 500 meeting attendees.
  • Webinar - This type of account is available by request. However, there are only a few temporary licenses available for up to 500 attendees.

If you would like a Pro Plus or Webinar license, contact the OIT HelpDesk at 865-974-9900 or at https://help.utk.edu with the reasoning for a Pro Plus or Webinar license request.  The ticket will then be escalated to the OIT Course Design and Delivery team to upgrade the account.  

To activate your LiveOnline@UT (Zoom) account:

  • Go to tennessee.zoom.us
  • Click on Create or Edit Account.
  • When prompted, enter your NetID and Password. Once the account has been activated, it is ready for use.
