Follow the instructions below to find out how to give your GTA or TA access to your Panopto content for them to manage, edit, create or share videos on your behalf for a course.

Grant access to your GTA or TA in Panopto

Access levels must be made from the folder level. You will use the course folder to change these settings and give your students access to manage the content. You can access these folders within the Panopto interface inside of your Canvas course or from the Panopto web interface. 

  1. Navigate to the folder you want to share with your GTA/TA
  2. Click the Settings icon on the right side of the screen
  3. Click the Share tab on the left side of the screen
  4. Click the text field below People and Groups
  5. Enter the username or email address of your student in the text field below People and Groups
  6. Select Can create using the drop-down menu to the right of the text field

     

Send email notification to GTA or TA

  1. You have the option to send an email notification to your student along with a personal message. Check Notify people and type a message in the text box if you wish to send a personalized message to your student assistant. This will send an email to the recipient with your personal message. If you don't wish to send a personalized message, simply leave the message area blank and click Send.

  2. Click Send to enact the changes you have made. They will receive a message that looks like the following:
  3. Once sent, the People and Groups area will show the person you just added as having creator access. If you'd like to remove their access, click the X next to Creator on the line listing their name and email address.
