Panopto: Add Video Content to a Canvas Course

Overview

This article covers how to add Panopto video content to your Canvas course. You can add Panopto video content to your Canvas course by using the Rich Content Editor or the Add Item to Module feature.

Instructions

Rich Content Editor

Anywhere you see the Rich Content Editor in Canvas, you can use it to add Panopto video content to your course.

  1. In the Rich Content Editor, click the green Panopto icon to begin.
    Click the green Panopto icon in the Rich Content Editor to insert a Panopto video.
     
  2. Select the video you would like to add and click Insert.
    Select the Panopto video you want from the list and click Insert.
     
  3. Click Save to save the video to the page.

 

Add Item to Module

You can also use the Add Item to Module feature to add video content to a Canvas module.

  1. Click the + button for the Module needed and select External Tool from the drop-down menu.Select External Tool from the drop‑down menu when adding an item to the module.
     
  2. Scroll through list and click Panopto Video. Click Add Item.
    Select Panopto Video from the external tool list and click Add Item.
     
  3. Select the video you would like to add and click Insert.
    Select a video from the Panopto list and click Insert.
     
  4. Click Add Item to save it to the Module.
