The Canvas Gradebook includes several icons and colors that may display in the assignment columns, assignment groups, and Total column. Depending on how you grade assignments (manually or otherwise), you will see different icons or colors.
Icons and colors are simply gradebook indicators to assist you with course grading. All assignments count toward a student's total grade unless you select the option to not count the assignment towards the final grade or you have excused the assignment for a student.
