I am experiencing weird problems in Online@UT (Canvas). Could it be my Internet browser?

Tags Canvas

Most of the common problems that users encounter within Canvas are due to issues with the user's browser. This is one of the reasons we recommend that all faculty, students, and staff members have more than one browser installed on any computer from which they log in to Canvas.

In fact, the quickest troubleshooting you can do when experiencing issues in Canvas is to try a second browser. This will often solve the problem, and will also help OIT to troubleshoot the issue if you contact us for help. Accessing Canvas with a second browser is one of the first things you should try when running into issues, and it is also one of the easiest things to try.

Other accessibility and technical problems can be fixed simply by clearing the browser's cache. Browsers "cache" information about a website, including images, audio or video files, and log-in information (in the form of cookies), so that it will load quickly if the user returns.

Please refer to the Which browsers does Canvas support? support page for specific system requirement information.
