DASH Research

In alignment with the University of Tennessee System (UT System or UTSA), Strategic Plan and under the umbrella of the Dynamic Administration Systems for Higher Ed (DASH) program, the Huron Research Suite will expand research capabilities and ensure administrative excellence through the use of a modern, cloud based solution for “managing the business of research”.

The DASH Research Project launched in the summer of 2023 will implement the various HRS modules by the early of 2027.

The new DASH Research Conflict of Interest (COI) system replaces previous IRIS and iMedris outside interest disclosure systems for the management of outside interests, activities and commitments in alignment with state and federal regulations.

Institutional Review Board (IRB)

The new Institutional Review Board (IRB) system from the Huron Research Suite, supports a full range of activities for both Principal Investigators (PIs) and Study Teams, as well as Administrative and Review Staff. These features allow study teams to efficiently manage their protocols and IRB approvals from initiation to completion, including creating submissions, responding to pre-review requests, and responding to IRB feedback - all within one integrated platform.

Export Control (ExC)

Export Control expands research capabilities, supports Research Integrity, and ensures compliance. The Export Control platform includes requests for export control reviews for International Travel, Visitors Engaged in Research, Visa (I-129 Part 6), Shipment, Purchasing, Sponsored Research, Collaborations, Other Agreements, and Payment Processing.

Institutional Biosafety Com. & Radiation Safety

is a comprehensive application that supports Biosafety (Institutional Biosafety Committee) and Radiation Safety committees. The DASH Research Safety application enables protocol teams to submit safety protocols and follow-on submissions (amendments and continuing reviews) for review by the Safety committee and other personnel with Safety related roles. The DASH Research Safety system shepherds protocols through a series of states based on the actions of personnel participating in the review cycle.

Grants and Agreements (HGA)

The new Grants and Agreements (HGA) system, part of the Huron Research suite, replaces Cayuse and OSPREY legacy systems. The DASH Research Grants and Agreements system will facilitate routing, review, approval, and submission of proposals. It will also track awards such as grants, contracts, and clinical trial agreements as well as non-monetary agreements such as material transfer agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and data use agreements.
