The university is transitioning to Microsoft as the only university-wide platform for collaboration and productivity tools.
Between now and January 2026, we will transition from Google to Microsoft for email, file sharing and storage, online files, and more. OIT will coordinate with your department to determine a timeline and schedule faculty and staff migration for email and Google Drive.
Visit the OIT website to review the timeline, access resource guides, and learn more about this initiative.
There are several steps you can take now to help you prepare for this transition.
- Use Microsoft resources for new projects, initiatives, and files.
- Identify where you are using UT Google services in your daily work.
- Clean up your Google Drive by deleting files you no longer need.
- Clean up your Gmail account by deleting old emails you no longer need.
- Request Departmental Training for customized workshops on our supported Microsoft 365 applications.
