Clickers: Using PointSolutions from the Podium Computer

Overview

These instructions are for use when using the PointSolutions desktop app saved on a podium computer (rather than via an HDMI connection to your laptop).

Your PowerPoint presentations should be saved to your OneDrive.
Session files MUST be saved to your personal OneDrive when your session is complete; they will be deleted from the podium computer.

Instructions

Open Office 365

  1. Open a browser window on the podium computer.
  2. Navigate to office365.utk.edu on the podium computer.
  3. Select your OneDrive.
  4. Download your presentation slides from OneDrive.
  5. Leave the OneDrive window open.

 

Open PointSolutions

  1. Enter PointSolutions into the computer search box.
  2. Select the PointSolutions app.
  3. Select Sign In.

  1. Enter your email. Please use your netID@tennessee.edu formatted email.
  2. Authenticate with your UTK credentials.
  3. Select your course in the left-hand menu of PointSolutions, if possible.

  1. Select PowerPoint polling.
  2. Navigate to and open your PPT file for the session.
  3. Select Enable Mobile devices.
  4. Select Start session.
  5. Run your session.
  6. Select End Show when your presentation is complete.
  7. Select the Save icon in the PointSolutions toolbar.

  1. Select Save Session.
  2. Close PowerPoint.
  3. Return to the PointSolutions Dashboard.

 

Upload Your Grades to Canvas

  1. Select the Manage tab.
  2. Select your Course.
  3. Select the Session file.
  4. Select Results Manager.

  1. Review Results and Edit any scores (if necessary).
  2. Select Integrations.

Within the Results Manager of the Manage tab, the Integrations and Upload options are indicated.

  1. Select Upload.
  2. Confirm the session file to upload.
  3. Select Upload.
  4. Select Close.

Save Session Files

**The podium's data is cleared periodically; therefore, you will need to save your session data to your OneDrive. The session file is required if we need to do any troubleshooting.

  1. Open Podium's File Explorer.

  1. Select Documents.
  2. Select the PointSolutions folder.
  3. Select the Sessions Folder.

  1. Navigate to your session file.
  2. Arrange the Podium File Explorer and OneDrive windows side by side.
  3. Click and drag the session file from the Podium files to your OneDrive's PointSolutions session file folder.

If you do not have one, it is recommended that you create one.

  1. In your OneDrive, select My Files.
  2. Select the "Add New" button.
  3. Select Folder.
  4. Drag your PointSolutions file to your new PointSolutions folder in OneDrive.

  1. Log out of OneDrive.
  2. Close the browser window.
