K@TE: Single Sign-On Error Message

Tags KaTE

UT faculty and staff members are eligible to access K@TE and log in to K@TE using their NetID and password. If you receive a “Single Sign-On” error message - as shown in the screen shot below - when attempting to log in to K@TE, one of the following scenarios most likely applies:

  • New UT Employees: You are a new UT employee, and your “Start Date” in the IRIS system is today.

New UT faculty and staff members’ user records are loaded from the IRIS system to K@TE on a nightly basis. In this scenario, the recommendation is to log in to K@TE the next day. (Please review this K@TE Knowledge Base article for additional information about this process and examples how how this might apply to you.)

  • “Pending Employees”: You are still recorded in the IRIS system as a “Pending Employee”.

If you are recorded in the IRIS system as a “Pending Employee”, your user record will not load to K@TE until it is first updated in the IRIS system. For additional clarification about that process, please reach out to your UT department or your campus UT Human Resources office. Your status must be fully updated in IRIS before your user record will load to K@TE.

  • Other Positions: You are in an undergraduate student employee position or “Friend of UT” position in the IRIS system.

K@TE is primarily accessed by and licensed for active UT faculty and staff members, as well as specific graduate student UT employees. If you are receiving a “Single Sign-On” error message when attempting to log in to K@TE, you might be recorded in the IRIS system with a position that is not currently loaded to K@TE as an active user.
