Zoom: Automatic Captions in Meetings

Overview

Learn how to engage automatic captions in your UT Zoom meeting.

Instructions

  1. Automatic captions are enabled for all UT Zoom meetings. Leaders/hosts should select the Show Captions icon on the toolbar to engage captions in real-time. Or, select the More icon on the toolbar and then choose Captions or Show Captions.
  2. After selecting to show captions, leaders may be prompted to save a default language for the captions. At this time, English is the recommended captions language in our environment.

Students/participants may also request that captions are engaged via an icon on their toolbar. The leader of the session will receive a screen prompt to engage captions or to dismiss the request.
