Zoom: New Whiteboards

The latest version of the Zoom application includes both classic whiteboards and new whiteboards.

  • Classic whiteboards are available via the Share Screen icon on the meeting toolbar.
  • New whiteboards are available during the meeting via the Whiteboard icon on the meeting toolbar. New whiteboards are also available of outside the meeting in the Zoom desktop app and the UT Zoom webpage at tennessee.zoom.us.

New whiteboards may be created before a meeting and saved to the Zoom Cloud*. New whiteboards may also be shared/displayed during the meeting and similar to class whiteboards, new whiteboards have options for participants to co-create and edit content on the new whiteboards.

Zoom features available on new whiteboards include,

  • Pre-formatted templates
  • Copy/paste images onto the board
  • Add Zoom AI content to the board

*Please keep in mind that the Zoom Cloud is not a permanent storage option. Similar to Zoom Cloud recordings, new whiteboards saved to the Zoom Cloud will be deleted 120 days after creation. New whiteboards may be downloaded and saved locally, however.
