I'm an instructor and I'd like to schedule my LiveOnline@UT (Zoom) session within my Online@UT (Canvas) course. How do I get started?

To schedule your LiveOnline@UT (Zoom) session from within your Online@UT (Canvas) course, add the Zoom item to the course menu and then schedule the online classroom. For more information on how to get started, review the steps below and visit the Canvas/Zoom Instructions page.

Add Zoom to the Course Menu

  • Go to the Canvas course.
  • Select Settings and then Navigation.
  • Locate the Zoom item in the list and then drag and drop it to the top section. Be sure to save the change.

Return to the course menu and select Zoom. Choose the option to Schedule a New Meeting and continue as usual with adding a topic, selecting a date and time, and select the online classroom options.

By default, the Canvas/Zoom integration will only display the online classrooms scheduled within the course. To view the full list of all online classrooms and meetings for your account, log in with your UT credentials to our site at tennessee.zoom.us.
