Panopto uses Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) caption processing on all videos uploaded to the platform. While this feature is convenient, the captions are not 100% accurate. You may edit the captions using the Panopto editor function or upload a new caption file in the video settings. You may also delete the captions altogether. Follow the instructions below to find out how to delete captions from your Panopto video.
Navigate to the video you want to change in Panopto or within the Panopto interface in Canvas.
Select the settings icon on the video.
Click on the Captions tab in the video settings.
Click the arrow by “English (United States)” under the Available Captions header.
Click Delete Captions to remove them from the video.
