Security Classification: How to Classify a Device

Tags Classify

Overview

Device Self-Classification is an annual process that assists you in identifying which type of information is stored, viewed, or processed on UT-owned devices. If you do not classify your device within 30 days, there is a 14-day grace period to classify the device and restore the entry. Classifying a disabled device will restore its NetReg entry.

How To

  1. Navigate to the classification site: https://classify.utk.edu
  2. Sign in with your NetID and NetID password.
  3. Click Classify next to each device you need to classify.
  4. Check each box that corresponds to data that may be stored on the device being classified.
  5. When you are done, press Submit.
