Overview
Federal requirements mandate that digital content meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards by April 24, 2026. This applies to all digital content, including:
- Email
- Websites and intranets
- Mobile applications
- Online documents and forms
The Department of Technology Solutions (DTS) is leading the systemwide rollout of tools to support compliance efforts.
Tool 1: SilkTide (Website Accessibility)
Purpose
Identifies and assesses website accessibility issues across assigned sites.
Key Details
- Purchased by DTS as the systemwide accessibility scanning tool
- Access is limited to selected individuals whose responsibilities align with ADA digital accessibility compliance activities
- DTS will provision accounts; users will receive a setup email once their account is created
- SilkTide identifies issues only — fixes must be made outside the tool using existing website editing methods
- Users can build personal dashboards; system-level dashboards are used for overall reporting

SilkTide Resources
Tool 2: YuJa Panorama (Course Content Accessibility)
Purpose
Supports accessibility within LMS course content.
Key Details
- Integrates directly with Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, and D2L
- Scans course content and suggests accessibility fixes
- Some fixes can be applied automatically
- Allows instructors to replicate accessibility settings across courses for consistency
- Target go-live date: April 13, 2026
