Email: Check Email Rules

Overview

Email rules (called filters in Gmail) are settings that automatically perform actions on your email when it arrives in the inbox, such as moving the email to a folder or deleting the email.

Outlook on the Web and New Outlook

  1. Access Microsoft 365 in a web browser or open Outlook.
  2. Open your UTK mailbox.
  3. Select Settings in the top right, then Mail, and Rules.

Outlook for Windows (Classic Outlook)

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Select the Home tab on the ribbon.
  3. Choose Rules, then Manage Rules & Alerts.

Outlook for Mac

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Select the Message menu from the top bar.
  3. Choose Rules.

Gmail

  1. Log into Gmail.
  2. Select Settings in the top right, then "See all settings"
  3. Select Filters and Blocked Addresses
  4. Email rules will be listed under "The following filters are applied to all incoming mail:"
