K@TE: Types of Learning Opportunities (Definitions)

Are you curious about the types of learning available in K@TE and a definition for each type? The below list of definitions should be able to help:

  • Curriculum: Multiple learning objects that are offered as a package to provide a blended learning experience or to provide a package of courses that need to be completed together. A curriculum can be made up of many of the other types of learning highlighted below.
     
  • Online Class: An electronic course that is completed online within the K@TE system.
     
  • Instructor-Led Training Event: Any type of live training – whether virtual or in-person – that is led by an instructor.
     
  • Material: An electronic reference document, resource or external website that is available for completion or launching from within the K@TE system.
     
  • Video: A video file that is reviewed within the K@TE system.
     
  • Test: A training item that measures a learner’s knowledge and understanding a topic within the K@TE system.
     
  • Instructor-Led Training Session: A specific, scheduled instance of an instructor-led event that is held live.
     
  • External Training: Training that is taken outside of the K@TE system and recorded for “HR 128 Training Credit” purposes.
     
  • Playlist: A curated list of learning opportunities that learners can follow for updates.
