IRIS: Copy Text to Excel

Some reports in IRIS are not formatted in a tabular or grid format and do not have icons for the Excel InPlace interface or for downloading to Excel. For reports such as these, there may still be an option for transferring the data to Excel.

It is possible to use the keyboard shortcut CTRL-Y to select report information from a print display. After copying the data into Excel, you can use the Excel function “Text to Columns” to separate the data into various columns. If your report data has negative numbers with a trailing negative sign, “Text to Columns” will also format the negatives correctly for manipulating in Excel.

For additional assistance utilizing IRIS, please visit our instructional documents and videos on the IRIS Help website.  You can also submit a help ticket online if you have additional questions.
