Email: Annual Timeline for Deleting Inactive UT Alumni Email Accounts

Overview

Any student who leaves the university in good standing is eligible for an alumni account.
Information about Alumni Email Account Renewal

Unlock Your Account

To unlock your account, reset your password online. This will reactivate your account, allow you to update your password reset security questions, and allow you to set a new password. Your account will be available approximately one hour after reactivation. 

Annual Renewal

All alumni are required to annually renew access to their UT email regardless of whether or not it is being actively used. 

  1. The annual renewal period is from March 15 to June 14. During this time, we will send you reminders about how to keep your account.
  2. On June 15, after the renewal period, we will disable accounts that were not renewed.
  3. The following March 1, we will delete the disabled accounts.

Reminder emails will be sent on Mar 15, May 1, June 8, and June 14.

Renewal Email

Hi Vols,

It’s time to renew your Volmail account. If you are actively using your Volmail account and want to keep it, let us know by completing the following steps:

  1. Go to oit.utk.edu/alumni.
  2. Choose Keep Your Volmail Account for Another Year.
  3. Sign in to renew your account.

If you are not using your account, contact the OIT HelpDesk at help.utk.edu and request to have your account deleted.

If you do not act, your account will be disabled on June 15, 2022 and deleted on March 1, 2023. Between June 15 and March 1, you can renew your account by resetting your password at oit.utk.edu/alumni.
