Summary

This article covers proper security settings for your Mac while using Panopto Capture in a browser or the Panopto desktop recorder. Sometimes your Mac security settings may prevent you from sharing your camera, microphone, or screen while using Panopto Capture in a browser or when using the Panopto desktop recorder. If you are having trouble, follow the instructions in this article to make sure you've enabled the proper security settings.

Security Settings

On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Privacy & Security

As you scroll down, you'll see options for Camera, Microphone, and Screen & System Audio Recording - all are essential for recording with Panopto. Click each and check that your browser of choice as well as the Panopto desktop recorder (if you have it installed) are selected to allow recording.
