As the transition to DASH continues, certain applications may not be fully compatible with the new chart of accounts (COA) or projects (POETAF) structure due to source system field size limitations. Consequently, maintaining the use of IRIS Fund numbers or Alias values may be necessary in some processes.
The following provides information on using IRIS or Alias values should you be unable to make changes in the source systems:
- Continued Support for IRIS Fund Numbers and Alias values: If your application cannot support the new values, you can continue using IRIS numbers or Alias values as you have been doing. We have a pre-processing step with a cross-reference table that will ensure seamless integration of your transactions into DASH.
- Pre-Processing Step: Our pre-processing step flowchart allows you to continue sending your data using IRIS Fund numbers or Alias values, ensuring that your transactions will flow smoothly into our systems without any disruptions. Note the decision point for Source System values in the flowchart, using existing values would flow using the Alias (Level 1) path.
We are currently developing a web application that simplifies cross-referencing by allowing searches using IRIS Fund/Alias values to DASH CoA/POETAF values and vice versa. Alongside this, we will have a similar application that translates between IRIS GL Account and DASH Natural Account. Both resources will be made available on the Friends of DASH website.
