The DASH training strategy and approach includes a variety of different training modalities offered to best support UT employees in their use of DASH and this transition for UT. DASH training follows a consistent approach across the UT System, and the resources linked from Friends of DASH are offered from UT System central offices.
The training delivery channels, products and methods summarized below are all used to conduct end user training for employees to effectively do their jobs and perform self-service activities in DASH. To learn more about self-service activities in general with DASH, visit the Employee Self-Service (ESS)/Manager Self-Service (MSS) Hub on the Friends of DASH website. Please note that recommended DASH training opportunities vary for each employee’s job and role at UT.
Training Modalities and Channels:
Oracle Guided Learning (OGL)
Oracle Guided Learning – or “OGL” – is an information and learning tool embedded directly in DASH, offering in-application guidance, messages, Smart Tips, and more. OGL provides real-time instructions for a variety of tasks and processes. DASH users can access OGL resources like Smart Tips that provide helpful context for fields and buttons, as well as Process Guides that walk users through a process in DASH. OGL is helping UT shift the way in which training resources are accessed by providing them within the daily flow-of-work tasks. To access OGL within DASH, click on the OGL “Widget” and open the OGL Help Panel – as outlined in the Oracle Guided Learning (OGL) Overview” Knowledge Base article.
Custom e-Learning Online Classes
Custom e-Learning online classes provide a self-paced, interactive training option for learning more about DASH and are offered through the K@TE Learning Management System (LMS). The online classes available in K@TE are linked on the DASH Training Opportunities page on the Friends of DASH website and more detailed descriptions of each online class are displayed in K@TE.
Supplemental Training
Supplemental training includes materials such as Job Aids and Business Process Overview (BPO), as well as other training resources and opportunities offered for DASH. Job Aids outline step-by-step instructions for a specific job task or process and include screen shots and explanations of the process. To review these types of resources, access the DASH Training Opportunities page on the Friends of DASH website for a variety of supplemental training links.
