DASH: GetThere - Date of Birth (DOB) Format Display

When entering your date of birth (DOB) in the GetThere Travel Booking Tool, the system may display dates in DD/MM/YYYY (day-month-year) format by default instead of the expected MM/DD/YYYY (month-day-year) format. This can cause confusion when reviewing your profile, as your birthday may appear incorrect.  

 

Why This Happens: 

  • The default GetThere date preference is set to DD/MM/YYYY.  

  • Users cannot type directly into the DOB field; instead, a date picker must be used.  

  • If preferences have not been set, GetThere defaults to the international date format. 

 

How to Fix It: 

You can update your preferences, so dates are displayed in the familiar MM/DD/YYYY format.  

  1. Open GetThere through DASH.  

  1. Click Profile in the top menu.  

  1. Select Settings (upper right-hand corner).  

  1. From the dropdown, choose Preferences.  

  1. Under Date Format, select MM/DD/YYYY.  

  1. Save your changes.  

 

Once updated, your date of birth (and other date fields) will appear in MM/DD/YYYY format throughout GetThere.  

Note: 

  • Preferences are blank by default, so most first-time users will see dates in DD/MM/YYYY until they update their settings.  

  • Currently, these settings must be changed by each individual user; they cannot be changed as a whole throughout the system for everyone.
