Microsoft Teams: Meet Now - Record an Instant Meeting

Overview

Creating a short how-to or informational video is a great feature to add to a course. This article will walk you through the steps to record a video using the Meet Now option.

Instructions

Access Teams

  1. Go to office365.utk.edu.
  2. Log in and authenticate with your UTK credentials.
  3. Select the App Launcher in the upper left corner.

  1. Select Teams. If you do not see Teams, select More Apps.

Meet Now

  1. Select the Calendar icon in the left-hand menu.

  1. Select Meet Now.

  1. Select Start Meeting.
  1. You may be prompted to Allow Teams to access your Camera and Microphone. Select Allow.

  1. Rename your Meeting.

  1. Confirm that your camera and microphone are both toggled on.
  2. Select Join Now.

Record and Transcribe your Presentation

  1. Select the ellipsis (…) in the meeting toolbar.
  2. Select Record and Transcribe.
  3. Select Start Recording.

  1. Confirm the language.

 

Share your PowerPoint

  1. Select the App Launcher in the upper left of the Teams window.
  2. Select PowerPoint.
  3. Navigate and open your PowerPoint Presentation.
  4. Select the Share icon in the Meeting toolbar.

  1. Select Screen to share your entire screen. Sharing the Screen is recommended if you need to change between different apps in your presentation. You can also select a PowerPoint live file or navigate to a file on your device.

When your Presentation is Complete

  1. Select Stop Sharing.

  1. Select Stop Presenting.

  1. Select the ellipsis (…) in the toolbar.
  2. Select Record and Transcribe.
  3. Select Stop Recording.

  1. Select Leave.

View the Meeting Recap and Recording

  1. Select the Chat icon in the left-hand menu.

  1. Navigate to and select your meeting in the Teams Chat panel.

  1. Select the video thumbnail.

  1. A new window will open.
  2. Select the Open in Stream icon in the upper right corner of the window. A new browser tab will open.

Notes:

  • Your video has a default expiration date – you will need to change this if you want to keep the video long-term.
  • Your video is stored in your OneDrive.
    • Select My Files.
    • Select Recordings.
