Overview
The Office of Research Engagement provides licenses for a secure version of WebEx that complies with FEDRAMP standards. This version is specifically designed to meet the stringent security requirements necessary for specific use cases. Individuals requesting access must demonstrate a specific need for the FEDRAMP-secured WebEx platform.
Requesting a FEDRAMP-secured Webex Account
Contact the Office of Research to start the request process. They will verify the request and coordinate with the OIT Security Team to issue the license.
UTK Webex Login Guide
- Verify that you can log in to https://utkresearch.webex.com/ using your netid@tennessee.edu. If you are unable to do so, please contact the Office of Research to initiate the request process.
- Download and install Webex from the UTK Research Webex site. Open the application after installing.
- Select the “Webex for Government” space using the drop-down arrow menu, allow the app to restart, and then you will see a different login screen.
- Log in to the Webex desktop application with your netid@tennessee.edu, and you will be prompted to log in again through UTK's Central Authentication Service/SSO (using your netid, password, and Duo push).
- Once logged in, please note that your account license will remain active as long as you log in at least once every 90 days. Unfortunately, this is Webex’s default behavior for FedRamp that cannot be extended. You will need to request a license again if you are not being sent to CAS/SSO with your Tennessee email address.
