Overview
YuJa Verity has now added a feature that allows students to record their test-taking environment from two separate cameras. During proctoring setup, students can select multiple cameras, including a mobile phone as a second device. The additional camera captures the room and workspace alongside the computer’s webcam and screen recording.
Note: This setting is only available when taking a quiz via the YuJa Verity Browser Extension.
How to Prepare for a Secondary Camera Exam
- If you’re scheduled to take a proctored exam with a Second Camera, you will need to come prepared with a mobile device or portable tablet equipped with a front-facing camera and stable internet connectivity.
- Make sure you have a charger within reach of your workspace, as your mobile device's camera usage will drain its battery.
- Connect to the same Wi-Fi as your computer.
What to Do if Connecting with Your Mobile Device
- The second camera will require a YuJa Verity app to be downloaded on your mobile device.
- During the pre-exam hardware setup, you will be prompted with a QR code. Scan this code with your mobile device, then select Next.
- Download the YuJa Verity app.
- Setup Camera
- Allow the mobile device camera to record.
- Flip the camera and confirm. The camera selection will be locked for the duration of the exam.
- Position your mobile device securely. Prop it against books, a tripod, or similar support to keep the camera steady. The camera will close automatically once you submit the quiz.
Note: Phones that are no longer receiving iOS or Android updates may not be compatible with the YuJa Verity app. These phones may include the iPhone XS/XR and Galaxy S21 series.
