How to Request Building Access Through Planon

This article explains how University of Tennessee students and employes can request building access (e.g., card access) using the Planon system, which is the official platform for managing key and card access at UTK and UTHSC. This includes requests for: 

  • Entry-only card access 

  • Physical keys 

  • Extended or after-hours access 

 

Step 1: Go to the Planon Access Portal

This link takes you directly to the request form. You will be prompted to log in with your NetID and password.

Step 2: Fill Out the Form 

Include: 

  • Your name and NetID 

  • Building name that you need to access 

  • Reason for access 

  • Time/day requirements (e.g., weekends, varied hours) 

  • Supervisor approval or contact 

  • Submit the form 

 

If you have logged into Planon before, you can track the status of your request under My Requests. If not, you will receive status updates via email.  

Access changes may take 1-3 business days to process.
