Out of almost 300 entries submitted in a contest to name the new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, one rose to the top in voting and with the selection committee: DASH.
DASH, which stands for Dynamic Administrative Systems for Higher Ed, allows multiple business functions—finance, human resources and payroll—to be combined into one source system and expanded beyond, if required. The name “DASH” also symbolizes the speed and agility the new cloud-based system brings to UT. Modern ERP systems are proving to be more dynamic and evolve with processes as business changes more quickly, and this custom name for DASH helps reinforce that fact for UT.
Kim Giorgio, who works at the UTIA Extension office in Columbia, submitted the winning entry and received a $250 Amazon gift card. Thank you to all who submitted and voted when this contest took place!
