VPN: Connect to Pulse Secure | Web

Body

Overview

Pulse Secure is the client for connecting to the SSL-VPN from a Windows or Mac. These instructions walk you through connecting to the VPN through your web browser.

How To

  1. Download and install the Pulse Secure application found under the VPN section of the OIT Software Download Site.
  2. In a web browser, navigate to https://access.utk.edu and sign in with your NetID and password, then proceed through Duo Two-Factor Authentication.
  3. On the following page, find the "Pulse Secure" option and click the "Start" button next to it.
  4. If you have not connected to the VPN using access.utk.edu, you will need to download the Pulse Secure Application Launcher. You can do so on the page that opens by clicking the "Download" button and running the file that is downloaded.
  5. After downloading the launcher, you may be redirected to the screen above. This time, you may be prompted to open the application launcher. We recommend clicking "Remember" or "Always" when those options are available.
  6. At this point, the Pulse Secure application should be running and the VPN should be connected. You can verify this by opening your system tray and finding the white letter "S" icon. If the icon has a green arrow next to it, this indicates that the VPN is connected.
