Microsoft Excel: Name your Worksheet

Overview

Excel worksheets are automatically labeled Sheet1, Sheet2, etc. Although these names are read by screen readers, they do not provide meaningful context. For better accessibility, use descriptive worksheet tab names that indicate the content of each sheet.

Instructions

1. Right-click on the Sheet tab.
2. Select Rename.
3. Enter a descriptive name for the sheet.
4. Select Enter.
