Zoom: Avatars

The Zoom Workplace app offers a variety of video effects for both hosts and participants, including Zoom Avatars. An avatar image appears in place of your image during a webcam broadcast. Avatars mirror your facial expressions and movements in real time, allowing you to maintain a presence even if you’re not on camera. For example, the avatar reflects your motions, it still conveys important nonverbal cues—like nodding, smiling, or raising an eyebrow—without requiring full video.

To explore Zoom Avatars, follow the steps below. Keep the following tips in mind.

  • Zoom Avatars will remain “On” once applied, until you select another avatar or no avatar.
  • Avatars can be engaged before or during the Zoom meeting.
  • Have the latest version of Zoom Workplace app installed for the best results.
