Overview
There are sets of system requirements for Macs and PCs, and the requirements can also depend on if you have a green screen, or not. To review the requirements for your device and environment, please visit this Virtual Background information page.
The Virtual Background setting may be engaged via the Zoom desktop application or the website interface at tennessee.zoom.us.
Instructions
Turn on Virtual Background in the Desktop Application:
- Please sign in to the Zoom desktop app. Select Sign In, and be sure to choose Sign in with SSO. If prompted, our domain name is tennessee.
- On a PC, select the gear icon in the top-right of the desktop application. On a Mac, select the profile icon at the top-right of the Zoom app window and then choose Settings.
- Select Background and Effects.
- Select the background you would like to use.
Turn on Virtual Background Online:
- Please go to tennessee.zoom.us and select Create or Edit Account to log in with your NetID and password.
- Select Settingsin the left-side menu.
- Locate the section for Virtual Background.
- Toggle the option for Virtual Background to On.
- You will also have the option to allow videos to be used as a virtual background.
