Zoom: Meeting Link Expiration

A LiveOnline@UT (Zoom) session may be scheduled for an individual date and time (one-time only), or, it may be recurring. A recurring session can occur more than once. This option is convenient for semester classes or for meetings that occur at the same time for several months. The option to select a recurring meeting is available during the scheduling process. There are some recurring session rules, however, as defined by Zoom.

  • A recurring meeting ID will expire 365 days after the meeting is started on the last occurrence.
  • A non-recurring meeting ID will expire 30 days after the meeting is scheduled for.
  • Scheduled meetings can be started at any time before the scheduled time.
  • An instant meeting link will expire as soon as the meeting is over. (An instant meeting is not scheduled; start an instant meeting by logging into the Zoom desktop application and select the New Meeting icon.)
