Zoom: Meeting Summary Templates

The Zoom AI Companion Meeting Summary is a tool that summarizes the spoken words of a meeting. The meeting summary can be pre-formatted by the host into different templates, such as Brainstorm, 1:1, or Discussion, and the format chosen may be useful for displaying and sharing the summary with others.

The default meeting summary is General. To select a different default, follow the steps below.

  • Log in to your account via out UT Zoom page to access your account Settings.
    • Use your UPN as your username: 
      • Your UPN is the email address used to sign in to UT services, such as email, typically in this format:
      • Faculty and Staff: Use NetID@utk.edu 
      • Students: Use NetID@vols.utk.edu 
    • Look up your UPN online if you aren’t sure which email address you should be using
    •  Password: Your NetID Password
  • Choose Settings, and then select the AI Companion heading.
  • In the Meeting section, select the pencil icon by Meeting Summary Template to choose a new default. Once selected, this option will be the default for every meeting you host.

Or, when scheduling a meeting in the Zoom Workplace app, select a template format.
