Overview
This article will cover duplicating/copying a Basic Plan in Microsoft Planner.
Information
Note, that if you add a Plan to your MS Team, the Plan will NOT appear in the Team until you have shared a link for the Plan in the Team as a post to a channel. The owner of the Plan will always see the Plans they create in their Planner app under My Plans
- Background designs and themes will not be duplicated in the copied plan. The new plan will have a white background.
Instructions
- In the Planner app, choose the plan you wish to duplicate.
- Choose the ellipsis menu ... to the right of your Plan name.
- Choose Duplicate plan.

- Rename your plan if desired.
- Check boxes for tasks should be selected, but you may wish to include other items for sub-tasks to copy over, such as, priorities, etc.
- Choose Duplicate.
Note: it may take a few seconds for the plan to show up in your My plans area. You may need to refresh.

- To send the link to the copied plan, select the Share menu and choose Copy link to plan.
