SNIPE: Inventory Checkout - Check-in 

Proper process for check-out in Snipe. 

  • Open the appropriate asset in Snipe. 
  • From the right-hand menu, select the CHECKOUT ASSET box
  • The Checkout dialog will open and you can proceed to click in the USER field
    • Clicking in the field will open the dropdown menu. 
    • Begin typing the username in the box to search the user and select them.

  • Select the date of check out and apply any notes as necessary. 
  • In the lower, right click the CHECKOUT box when complete. 
  • In the Asset list the item will change to READY TO DEPOLY : DEPLOYED

Proper process for check-in in Snipe. 

  • Open the appropriate asset in Snipe. 
  • From the right-hand menu select the CHECKIN ASSET box.
  • The Check-in dialog will open and you can proceed to the STATUS field. 

    • Clicking in the field will open the drop-down menu. 
    • Select the appropriate return status from the menu.

    • Status should correspond to assets state of readiness 
  • Needs Repair or Reimage – The asset needs some type of work before it can be re-issued to a user. 
  • Ready to Deploy – The asset is ready to be issued to a user. 
  • Archived – Asset has been permanently removed from service. 
  • (For Radios) Radio Lease Ended – Radio needs to be returned to Communications. 

Proceed to notes section and add as necessary 

  • Notes may include information such as last user, repair information, etc. 
  • Once complete, click the CHECKIN box in the lower, right corner. 

  • The Asset will now display the selected status in the main Asset list.
