Door Unlock, Card Access, & Key Requests Procedure
If you anticipate needing building or room access that you do not currently have, please contact your building representative. Planning ahead will help ensure you have the right access before these changes take full effect.
One Time Unlocks:
	- For one-time unlocks, call Facilities Services at 865-946-7777 and present a valid photo ID (UT ID preferred).
	
		- Why is an ID check necessary?
		
			- An ID verification ensures that only authorized individuals gain access to university spaces. This helps protect people, equipment, and sensitive materials. 
 
- What if I don't have my ID available?
		
			- Without a valid ID we can not provide access. You will need to return with proper identification or coordinate with your supervisor or building representative.
 
 
 Key Access & Requests:
	- For ongoing access, submit a request through the Planon Request Keys or Card Access system (allow at least two weeks for processing). New employees may experience longer delays for card access as their credentials are added to the campus systems. You can watch a short training video here to help you through the process. 
	
		- Who can approve my request? 
		
			- Approvals must come from your department head, supervisor, or authorized designee for the space you are requesting access to. Approvers will often auto-populate in the online form. 
 
- What if I lose my card or key?  
		
			- Stolen or Lost VolCards can use this link here to report the lost or stolen card.  You can report a lost key by submitting a new key request through Planon Request Keys or Card Access link for a replacement and checking the box reporting a lost key.
 
- How do I set up my Planon Dashboard?
		
			- To set up the Planon Dashboard watch this short training video. 
 
- Who do I contact with questions?
