Building Services Cleaning/Biohazard/Lab Spills Cleanup Protocol
During the day, One Call receives all initial calls for any cleanup service, this includes general cleanup, biohazard, and lab spills. Depending on the nature of the call received, it will go through different teams.
Inside Building - Biohazard
All calls regarding feces, human waste, blood, etc. is to be dispatched as a “biohazard cleanup”. During the day shift hours, if a call comes in for a biohazard cleanup inside a building, we need to contact first: Johnathan Sawyer (865) 738-5963), if there is no answer second Curtis Pique (865)974-5381). They will contact Belfor for the cleanup. Assign all Biohazard cleanup to OPS:OPR_ABATE (SAWYER)|!GENERAL On-Demand Work
After Hours Biohazard cleanup
- “Biological Hazard/Material Clean up”
- Initial response – BELFOR 24hr Corporate line @ 800-856-3333 (We have them under contract for this work. Inside a building or outside)
Secondary response – Send both Johnathan Sawyer and Curtis Pique an email notification that BELFOR has been contacted. If there is no response from BELFOR call Johnathan or Curtis directly.
Landscape Services – Homeless Camps cleanup with Biohazard Waste
- Biohazard Waste located in a homeless encampment, 1st point of contact Jonathan Sawyer. He will decide if it needs to go to landscaping or to send it all to BELFOR
- Removal of clothing & homeless encampments left in parking lots & sidewalks or near buildings contact Matt McConnell mobile# (865-463-8534), work # (865-974-5371).
- For after-hours please contact the 24hr BELFOR line referenced above.
Abatement / EHS - Lab Spills
- For any Lab spills reported contact both Johnathan Sawyer and EHS
- EHS daytime number - (865) 974-5084.
- (865)974-9586 is the EHS On-Call Safety Advisor, the after-hours person representing EHS can be reached by contac. That number is good outside normal business hours.

All General Building Services
- Building Services handles custodial issues, trash/recycling inside a bldg., large spills with floor extractors. Their radio channel is SVC3. Work Order Assignment: OPS:BS_SHFT (CINNAMON)|!GENERAL On-Demand Work
