DASH: Mileage Calculation Error in DASH

Body

Some users have reported receiving an error message, such as “An Application Error Occurred”, when attempting to calculate mileage within the DASH Expense system. This issue may occur when the mileage field does not initially display the “miles” unit or when the calculation button fails to respond. If you encounter this error message and issue, follow the below troubleshooting steps to resolve it.

  1. Try a Different Browser:

Open DASH in another supported browser (e.g., Chrome, Edge, or Firefox) and attempt the calculation again.

  1. Clear Browser Cache and History:
  • Clear your browser’s cache and cookies using this DASH Knowledge Base article for reference.
  • Close the browser completely.
  • Reopen DASH and retry the expense item entry.

  1. Delete and Recreate the Expense Item:
  • Remove the existing mileage entry by deleting the expense item
  • Add a new Mileage expense item and re-enter the information.

  1. Check for “Miles” Text:
  • After reloading or switching browsers, confirm the Mileage field now shows “miles” after the blank input.
  • Enter the mileage and click Calculate again – the system should now return the expected amount.

  1. Save the Expense:

Once the calculation is completed successfully, click Save.
