In our UT Zoom environment, captions and recording transcripts are enabled for all meetings. The host or any participant present in the meeting may select the Show Captions icon on the meeting toolbar to display captions in real-time. It's now possible to also view captions in another language during the meeting. Review this article for more information regarding captions and translations.
- To engage this feature, hosts should enable Translated Captions in their UT Zoom account settings.
- Participants may choose a language in which to view captions. Once a different language is chosen, the captions will be generated and translated into that language for you.
Getting Started with Translated Captions:
- Hosts, before the meeting starts, enable Translated Captions in your UT Zoom account.
- In the classic Zoom web experience, choose Settings on the left, and then choose Meetings. Toggle Translated Captions to On.
- In the new Zoom web experience, choose the Profile icon on the right, and then choose Settings. Select Meetings, and then toggle Translated Captions to On.
- Select Show Captions on the meeting toolbar to display captions.
- Zoom can translate the captions into your preferred language. This is done in real-time during the meeting, and can be set by each individual participant. Select the up arrow ^ next to the Show Captions.
- Toggle the Translation option to On, and select the language you want the captions translated to.
- Click Save if prompted.
