One of the new features within the Canvas-Zoom integration is the option for students and instructors to engage Zoom Appointments within the course site. Please keep the following tips in mind when using this feature.
- The Zoom appointment is not synced to the Canvas calendar.
- We recommend that students log into their UT Zoom account before scheduling an appointment.
- When an appointment is scheduled by a student, the instructor and the student will receive an email from Zoom with a link confirming the appointment.
Instructors - How to Get Started with Scheduling a Zoom Appointment Block:
- Ensure that your @tennessee.edu email address is selected as the primary in your Canvas course.
- Select the Zoom menu item in the course.
- Select Appointments and then Create Schedule to set an available appointment block. You may choose a day of the week and time-frame, and the duration of the appointment time.
- Once a student selects an appointment block you will receive an email from Zoom confirming the appointment and a link to the appointment. We recommend returning to the Appointments section and choosing Upcoming Events to start the meeting.

Students - How to Choose a Zoom Appointment in Canvas
- Select the Zoom menu item within the course site.
- Choose Appointments at the top of the window.
- Select an appointment from the available appointment block (appointment blocks are chosen by the instructor).
- Once an appointment block is chosen, Zoom will send the instructor and the student an email with a confirmation of the appointment and a meeting link.
