Overview
UT Google accounts include a mix of apps and services for faculty, staff, and students. OIT strongly recommends only using your UT Google account for school or work; access to these features is only available while you are active faculty, staff, or student.
Google divides its apps into two groups:
- Core apps are included with your account and managed by OIT.
- Non-core apps are available at Google and OIT’s discretion but not managed by the university.

- Gmail* - Legacy email offered to students. Starting in November 2023, all new students will use Microsoft 365 Outlook for email.
