Overview

If you wish to “unsend” an email, you can do this through recalling sent messages. This only works if the message is marked unread by the recipient. If the message has been marked read by the recipient, the message will not be recalled.  Note the this article contains instructions for both New and Classic Outlook.

Instructions - New Outlook

  1. Select the email

  2. Go to the …
    (ellipsis menu)

  3. Select the Recall message

  4. Select OK
     

 

Instructions - Classic Outlook

  1. Open the message in a pop-out window. 

  1. Go to the Messages tab. 

  1. Select the Actions icon. 

  1. Click Recall This Message

  1. Select OK
