Canvas: Hide Assignment or Quiz for a Select Number of Students

If an instructor needs to assign an Assignment or Quiz to the entire class, but keep a few students from seeing and accessing that Assignment or Quiz, the instructor would need to:

1. Click on Edit for the Assignment or Quiz.
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the Edit page, to the Availability Dates section.
3. Assign a set of Available To dates for students who will not be taking the Assignment or Quiz; set these dates just beyond the end of the semester.
4. Assign a second set of Available To dates for the rest of the class, select Everyone from the drop-down menu, which will become Everyone Else; these dates will be the typical dates and times you'd like the Assignment or Quiz to be available for the majority of the class.

This should prevent students who should not have access from accessing the Assignment or Quiz, while allowing the remainder of the class to access it as planned.
