Overview
Alternative Host and Schedule Privilege are similar, but they have a key difference. Both options will allow another Licensed (Pro) level account holder to start a meeting; however, a Schedule Privilege holder may view, delete, and schedule all meetings for another. This article describes how to apply Alternative Host and Schedule Privilege.
- Users must have a Licensed (Pro) level account to engage Alternative Host or Schedule Privilege.
- The format of adding a user with these privileges must be NetID@tennessee.edu.
Instructions
Add Alternative Host
An Alternative Host may start a meeting that was scheduled by another user. Once added, the Alternative Host will receive an email from Zoom confirming their new role for the meeting.
To add someone as an Alternative Host to a meeting, choose this option during the meeting scheduling process. If Zoom reports that the user is not found or unavailable, contact us and we will check if they need a Licensed (Pro) account. Please review this article for more information regarding the Alternative Host role and engaging a calendar integration with Zoom.
- Open the Zoom Workplace desktop app and sign in with the SSO option, or go to tennessee.zoom.us and select Create or Log In to sign in with your NetID and password.
- Select Schedule to add a new meeting.
- To locate the Alternative Host option, select Show next to Options in your online Zoom account, or select Advanced Options if you are in the Zoom desktop app.
- Enter the Alternative Hosts email address in the NetID@tennessee.edu format.
- Select Save.
