Microsoft Teams: Upload a file to a Chat

Instructions

There are 2 ways to share files to an MS Teams chat. Both allow you to upload multiple files at a time. 

Method 1: 

  1. In your chat window, select the paper clip below the Type a new message box

In the message composition area, select the paperclip icon located to the right of the exclamation point to attach a file to your message.

  1. Select Attach Cloud Files or Upload from this device. 
  2. Find your file and select Share. 
  3. Type a message and select the send arrow. 

Method 2: 

  1. In your chat window, select the Files tab on the top bar. 

Select the **Files** tab at the top of the chat window to view and manage files shared in the conversation.

  1. Select Share in the upper left. 
  2. Select Attach Cloud Files or Upload from this device. 
  3. Find your file and select Share.
